Hey there, I’m Donna Hawkins, the founder and CEO of Accommodation Insiders. I’ve been immersed in the hospitality industry since the late 1980s. Born into a family that owned a collection of hotels and motels across Western Australia, I offer insider tips you can rely on to succeed, and done-for-you services that will change the way you do business.

Climbing the Ladder

My journey in hospitality started early. At the age of 12, I was already cleaning our family’s hotel. I transitioned to waitressing at 15 and bartending at 18. By 23, I owned my own hotel. Fast forward to today, and I’ve dedicated basically my whole life (over 30 years!) to the hospitality industry.

A New Chapter in Margaret River

In 2016, I took a significant step by acquiring a 29-room motel in the breathtaking tourist destination of Margaret River. This region quickly became more than a business location; it’s a place I’ve grown to love deeply, and it’s our home.

Come 2023, we made the bittersweet decision to sell the motel. While one chapter in my life closes, my passion for the accommodation industry is far from over. Now, I’m fully committed to Accommodation Insiders, where I aim to empower and guide hospitality professionals on their own paths to success.

Juggling It All

Did I mention I’m also a wife to a very understanding husband, a pesky Siberian Husky named Buddy, and a mum to five amazing kids? Balancing operations, a website, and a family might sound overwhelming to some, but for me, it’s a dream come true!

When I’m not working on Accommodation Insiders, I also run the Accommodation Margaret River website, where I get to help people plan their perfect vacations to Margaret River!
